Mothers

by Annette Wynne

Most good things—especially cakes and toys,
Don't go around among all the girls and boys,
And some must go without;
Some children have one good thing, some another—
I know a child who has no little brother,
But very fine it is that pretty nearly everybody has a mother—
And that's the best of all, no doubt.
