  1. I Blow You a Kiss

    by William Stanley Braithwaite

I blow you a kiss on the evening wind
    My dear, wherever you be;
Up in the north or down in the south,
    Or over the rolling sea.

I blow you a kiss, but after the kiss
Do you know what follows, my dear?
Something the wind cannot bring to you—
    Only a little tear.

  2. Two Dials

    by Ruby Archer

    You came, and it was morning;
You went, and it was night.
A dial measured in my heart
    One little day's delight.

    The dial in my garden
    Of passion-flowers and rue
Takes note of only sunny hours,—
    My heart—of those with you.

  3. Serenade

    by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

    Stars of the summer night!
    Far in yon azure deeps,
    Hide, hide your golden light!
    She sleeps!
    My lady sleeps!
    Sleeps!

    Moon of the summer night!
    Far down yon western steeps,
    Sink, sink in silver light!
    She sleeps!
    My lady sleeps!
    Sleeps!

    Wind of the summer night!
    Where yonder woodbine creeps,
    Fold, fold thy pinions light!
    She sleeps!
    My lady sleeps!
    Sleeps!

    Dreams of the summer night!
    Tell her, her lover keeps
    Watch! While in slumbers light
    She sleeps!
    My lady sleeps!
    Sleeps!
