The Home-Coming

by Ruby Archer

A porch, a hall, a stairway,
Significant may be;
I'm thinking what a Rubicon
Your evening door, for me.

On one side yearning, waiting,
A thousand vague alarms,
Tormenting worries women know;—
The other side,—your arms!
